General Michel Aoun’s Cancerous
Arrogance

Isaiah: 5:20-21 "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who
put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and
sweet for bitter! 5:21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent
in their own sight!"
Poor General Michel Aoun, his blind obstinacy and hatred has lead him to a
deadly state of perversion that requires our pity towards the conclusion of
national and political career of a once-promising leader that was perceived as a
different and unique role model unlike all the other vacillating politicians.
We thought , or rather we were deluded in believing, based on his stands and
promises, that he will not practice narrow politics nor cult of personalities.
We thought he would consecrate his life, energy, armed with his God-given
talents and the people’s confidence in serving the national causes. Instead he
compromised, and became a chameleon, a symbol of selfishness, arrogance, filled
with lust for power, populism, and a Trojan Horse.
Our people in Lebanon and the Diaspora were shocked and regret bitterly the fall
of this man into obedience, into a trap, conspiracies, stands, and greed. He
surrendered to the lowest of collaborators who since 1988 committed sins and
betrayals against our beloved homeland, Lebanon and the Lebanese people.
He mastered the instruments of rationalization and combined it with demagogy,
then started marketing his shameless practices justifying them with the
practices of collaborators under the Syrian occupation. Although the vast
majority of those have already repented, admitted publicly their sins, returned
to the Sovereignty current, and some even gave their lives for Free Lebanon.
We say it with a clear conscience, the General Michel Aoun has turned his back
on his sovereign, institutional, and moral past, and has converted overnight
from one shore to another, until he became just another collaborator, a trumpet
for Hezbollah, the Syrian president, Assad and the Mullah dictatorship of Iran.
It is obvious even to the naïve and children that upon his return from exile,
Aoun has insolently and unprecedently abandoned all his declared principles. He
reneged on all his promises and started justifying in a provocative, disgusting
and hallucinating fashion, his naked debaucheries, his sick perversion, his
obscene alliances, his adversarial approaches, and his street language. He has
mocked the Maronite culture and constants. Yet, he has failed miserably in
fooling the clear consciences and was abandoned by hundreds of his former
political cadres and intelligentsia who started exposing his actions and stands.
Presidential Neuroses, obsession with the “throne”, selfishness and hatred, have
all led the man to a state of mad arrogance and detachment from reality. He then
went beserk, childishly and randomly in all directions, until he declared
himself political patriarch over all the Maronites.
He issued an “edict” to “summon” the leaders and influential members of “his”
people, including the clergy, for consultation. He considered that the Christian
Church as an advisory board. This reckless, childish, arrogant, and despicable
behavior shows beyond all doubt, the very sick and advanced psychological,
mental, and ethical state of mind of the man. It is a hopelessly incurable
condition.
The Christian Church with the Cardinal as its head is the Glory of Lebanon.
General Aoun’s attacks and insults towards the Church and against the person of
the Cardinal is shameful and contrary to all ethics and morality. It clearly
shows the abyss this lost and violent man has reached.
Our reply to this idiotic behavior is based on the Bible: Malachi: 4:1
“For, behold, the day comes, it burns as a furnace; and all the proud, and
all who work wickedness, will be stubble; and the day that comes will burn them
up,”says Yahweh of Armies, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch"
